Today's Honor Roll Field Trip destination was Wittmer's Bike Rental, in the world-famous town of Pinecraft. It turned out to be a blustery-cold day, with the temperature dropping as the day went on. After making a loop around Pinecraft Park and getting a picture with the dredge working in Phillippi Creek, we arrived at Wittmer's at nine o'clock sharp.
Lloyd himself welcomed us, and gave us a tour of his shop. When we walked in, Lloyd spotted Kensley R., and recognized her immediately as his first cousin's daughter. Lloyd has an excellent selection of e-bikes and -trikes, with plenty of options to choose, and fine-looking vehicles they are! With ranges from 50 to 100 miles, and top speeds of 25-30 mph, Wittmer's Rental bikes will get you wherever you need to go, and quickly. He has a great stock of parts in his shop, and does all the maintenance and repairs himself, along with his helper, Al. His wife supervises. His shop space is bursting at the seams, and by next winter he plans to be in a larger place, a warehouse on the west edge of Pinecraft.
He told us all about how the e-bike rental industry works, and then sent us off with a $20 bill and instructions to go to Loretta's Donuts, one block over, and get donuts for the whole group... which we did! And they were delicious, hot and fresh!
After Wittmer's Bike Rental and Loretta's Donuts, we headed over to Pinecraft Park (stopping by Mama Mandy's Pretzels on the way,) and traipsed through the woods looking for alligators in Phillippi Creek. Not finding any, and getting driven out by the beginning of rain, we shopped at Target for awhile, before going to Chipotle for lunch. After lunch we spent some time at UTC Mall, then stopped by the pet store on our way to Smoothie King. We arrived back at the school house just before 3:00. It was a good day.

It is Christmas program night! The students worked hard for this presentation, and their work certainly paid off. The singing was
beautiful, with exceptional harmonies and blending, and the recitations all were excellent! From Kindergarten through high school, everyone did their part very well. It was a great program!
This morning at school, the students had their annual Christmas party. The food was plentiful and delicious, the fun was infectious, and the downtime was welcomed. They have worked hard this first half of the year, with some even fighting sickness; the Christmas break was well-earned. Enjoy!

This evening your students' creativity was on full display! They did wonderful work, and lots of beautiful projects were on display. To add to the enjoyment, our faithful school board put on a
lavish meal of pizza, crudites, chips, sodas, and ice cream - so much fun!
Huge compliments to the students for putting their time and talents into their work, and many thanks to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us, and to show your support for the ministry of the school.

It's the first day of school, and our Kindergarten students started their school career today! They've begun the Journey Of 1,000 Steps! They arrived with a spring in their step and a smile on their face, ready for adventure. Miss Shanell will be their adventure guide, and she will take good care of them!
We have an excellent group of students this year, and we are looking forward to a productive and enjoyable school term, with God's help.

Student-Teacher orientation was held this evening, and it was a good time for everyone. The school board served up Ranch Pretzels and Orange Sherbet Punch for a yummy snack. The students brought in their supplies and got things settled in their desks, then got in some play-time outside before the evening was over.
School staff are looking forward to an excellent school year, and we are grateful for your support and prayers.
We'll see you on Wednesday!

Our schoolhouse got new windows today! Hooray! What a blessing to have functional windows that we can use to enjoy clean, fresh air during cooler months! We are looking forward to that. Huge thanks to all the workers who made fast work of the project; the diligence and excellence is appreciated, but the camaraderie made the day refreshing. Blessings to all y'all!

A small but mighty band of soldiers bravely took on the job of cleaning the school house today. Bugs were picked up, dirt was vacuumed up, fingerprints were cleaned up, water fountains were fixed up, fan blades and lights were washed up, and rags were dirtied up. The classrooms sparkle, and the whole place looks and smells fresh and clean. Huge thanks to everyone who showed up to help with the work - every one of you is appreciated! Also, thanks to Gary for the photographs.
